Pelion Peninsula is located on the eastern side of the mainland of Greece, north of the island of Evia and with the island of Skiathos as a close neighbor. Pelion has a wild and amazingly beautiful nature, which you cannot experience on the small islands. There are high mountains, in which there is located a winter ski resort. There are plenty of large streams in impenetrable forests and hiking trails in the most beautiful nature and with a very varied wildlife.

“Pelion has a wild and amazingly beautiful nature, which you cannot experience on the small islands”

You can find authentic mountain villages where tourism is not existing. There are cozy coastal towns, amazing beaches and plenty of opportunities to explore a very different Greece than you are used to in the islands. Car hire is required at this location.

“To highlight the lovely town of Damouchari, which is beautifully located in a beautiful bay. It is partly in Damouchari that the ABBA film Mamma Mia has been recorded.”

The nearest airports are Volos and Skiathos, but Athens and Thessalokiki have the absolute best prices. However, while using a car while staying at Pelion, we recommend renting a car in either Athens or Thesalonikki airport and then even driving to Pileon from here. However, there is also the possibility of a bus from both airports to Volos and then taxi from here if you can. shall live in Damouchari.

Volos is by far the closest major city, and here you can shop for everything and experience a busy Greek city life. From here there are also ferries to many of the Greek islands.

We only have experience with the northern part of the Pelion peninsula and here can be highlighted the lovely town of Damouchari, which is beautifully situated over a lovely bay. It is among other things in Damouchari part that the ABBA film Mamma Mia has been recorded.

There are not many tourists at Pelion except in the Greeks’ own holiday and on the weekend where the local walks to the coast. Then there may get crowded on the most popular beaches.

We have connections to rooms in Damouchari and to a lovely Greek house in the mountain village of Kissos. The house we rent in Kissos is spacious with 3 bedrooms as well as huge large kitchen room on the 1st floor with access to large balcony. There are 2 bathrooms. There are plenty of outside area and terrace areas and generally very good space. There is a view of the coast and the sea from a part of the terrace area. The sea view is probably not as prevalent as the house is very high and in a fantastic and wild nature. The house is located on the outskirts of Kissos, where groceries can be purchased and there are also 2-3 eating places.

Nearest beach is 10 minutes by car down the mountain to Ag. Ioannis, or a little further to Damouchari.
